As an Associate within the Business Development and Licensing team, Sasmita evaluates the commercial potential, market demand, and patentability of early-stage medical innovations at Mass General Brigham. Collaborating with senior team members, she formulates strategies to optimize the commercial impact of discoveries, including the identification and engagement of potential licensees, investors, and collaborators.
Before joining Mass General Brigham Innovation, Sasmita served as a technology transfer fellow at the University of Michigan, where she conducted market research, prior art searches, and analyzed competitive landscapes. She also spent two years as a healthcare consultant, assisting various clients in the healthcare sector with market intelligence, competitive advantage, and strategy development. Sasmita holds a Master of Science in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree in Biology from Purdue University.
