We have parenting resources in place to facilitate a successful training experience that considers balancing this high level of training with parenting. These resources in this section are for residents, clinical fellows, and residency and fellowship program directors and coordinators.
The Mass General Brigham vacation, sick time, and leave policy provides up to 12 weeks of leave for new parents. The leave is available to parents of a newborn, those who adopt, and those who are foster parents, regardless of the gender of the parent. The leave must be taken within 12 months of the birth, adoption, or initiation of foster care.
The vacation, sick time, and leave policy also covers leaves for other personal issues that may arise during the course of a resident or clinical fellow's training.
All Mass General Brigham employees have access to lactation rooms and equipment.
The Mothers' Corner is a program for Mass General Brigham employees returning to work after parental leave. The Mothers' Corner provides new mothers with the opportunity to continue breastfeeding or pumping while back at work.
Mothers need to pre-register for access to lactation rooms by contacting the Mass General Brigham Employee Assistance Program at 866-724-4327.
