Testing for sexually-transmitted infections

Our urgent care centers provide comprehensive STI testing, with results available within 24-48 hours for HIV, HPV, genital herpes, syphilis, and other infections. For women, we also offer rapid testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis, with results available in 20-30 minutes.

If you think you have been exposed, have multiple partners, or notice symptoms, early testing and treatment are key to preventing complications, such as infertility, chronic pain, and other serious concerns.

During your visit, we’ll review your health history, check your vitals, and perform an exam. Depending on your symptoms and concerns, testing may include blood screenings, a urine test, or swabs.

Test results are available through the Mass General Brigham Patient Gateway. If you are not a Mass General Brigham patient or do not use the portal, we will call you with any positive results.

COVID-19 screening, evaluation, and treatment options:

Our urgent care centers evaluate and treat COVID-19 symptoms, including fever, cough, shortness of breath, and sore throat. If needed, we provide PCR testing, with results available in 24-48 hours through the Mass General Brigham Patient Gateway.

We do not provide asymptomatic COVID-19 testing. For vaccine information, visit the Mass General Brigham COVID-19 vaccine resource page.

If you have mild symptoms and need routine COVID-19 testing, please follow CDC isolation guidelines and visit a designated testing site

If you have Covid-19-related symptoms, our centers can evaluate you.  Symptoms include cough, fever, loss of smell/taste, muscle aches, runny nose, shortness of breath, or sore throat.

Our centers do not provide asymptomatic testing (testing for those without Covid-19-related symptoms), including for travel, return to work, or verification of Covid status.

The test we use is the viral PCR test. It is done by swabbing your nose.

Results are usually available within 24-48 hours through the Mass General Brigham Patient Gateway portal. Once the test analysis is complete, COVID-19 test results are immediately available in your Patient Gateway portal.

Please note that positive Covid-19 test results are reported to the Department of Public Health. You may get a call from your local Board of Health or the Massachusetts COVID Team.
