Urgent Care Services

We offer quick and convenient urgent care for a range of illnesses and injuries. From coughs and colds to cuts and broken bones, our providers offer great care in clean, modern centers when you need it.

What we treat and other services

We treat adults and children three and older for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses that need prompt attention. A clinical team is on-site seven days a week at most of our Mass General Brigham Urgent Care centers.

We provide care for a wide range of injuries and illnesses, including patients with COVID-19-related symptoms.

We do not offer asymptomatic testing for COVID-19.

Common illnesses we treat at our urgent care locations:

We accept most major insurance and offer reasonable self-pay rates at Mass General Brigham Urgent Care. Most of our centers are open seven days a week for urgent care visits until 8:30 p.m. Please note: Closing hours may vary depending on clinical capacity and wait time.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you plan to use your health insurance to pay for your visit, please be sure to bring identification and valid proof-of-insurance with you to your visit.

Please visit our insurance section of our site for more information.

Important information about on-site testing at our urgent care locations:

Our centers perform certain diagnostic tests (digital x-ray, EKG, blood and other lab tests) for patients receiving urgent care when the treating clinician deems them necessary for diagnosis/treatment.

We do not provide routine blood tests or x-rays ordered by your primary care physician. For these, please visit a Mass General Brigham hospital, or Mass General Brigham outpatient center or testing site that offers these services.

COVID-19 screening, evaluation, and treatment options:

Mass General Brigham Urgent Care is not offering the COVID-19 vaccine or asymptomatic testing. To learn more about the vaccine, visit the Mass General Brigham COVID-19 vaccine resource webpage.

Please do not visit the Emergency Room or Urgent Care for routine testing of mild symptoms. Instead, isolate per CDC guidelines and get tested at an appropriate testing site.

To find testing sites for mild symptoms or asymptomatic tests, please visit Mass.gov/COVID-19-testing for a state testing site near you.

If you have Covid-19-related symptoms, our centers can evaluate you.  Symptoms include cough, fever, loss of smell/taste, muscle aches, runny nose, shortness of breath, or sore throat.

Our centers do not provide asymptomatic testing (testing for those without Covid-19-related symptoms), including for travel, return to work, or verification of Covid status.

The test we use is the viral PCR test. It is done by swabbing your nose.

Results are usually available within 24-48 hours through the Mass General Brigham Patient Gateway portal. Once the test analysis is complete, COVID-19 test results are immediately available in your Patient Gateway portal.

Please note that positive Covid-19 test results are reported to the Department of Public Health. You may get a call from your local Board of Health or the Massachusetts COVID Team.

In response to COVID-19, Mass General Brigham has plans and resources in place to protect patients, employees, and the community. To learn more about what Mass General Brigham is doing, visit the Mass General Brigham website.
