Maria Rios, MPH, is the Director of Equity and Community Health Policy at Mass General Brigham. Prior to this role, she served as Director of Innovation for the Mayor's Office of Innovation and Performance in Atlanta, GA, where she executed strategic and transformative projects citywide, including the administration's police reform initiatives. She holds a BA in Anthropology and Community Health from Tufts University and an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health in Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Maria has dedicated her career to eliminating racial/ethnic health inequities, understanding that the physical and social environments we live in help determine health outcomes and access to opportunity. Before moving to Atlanta to serve in the mayor's office, Maria worked as a policy analyst for the Boston Public Health Commission and as a research assistant for the Disparities Solutions Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. She also served as an AmeriCorps member with The Possible Project, a non-profit that uses entrepreneurship as a framework to close the skills and opportunities gap facing young people.
