Prior to Mass General Brigham, Pat Fortune, PhD, served as the senior general manager for portfolio and commercial transactions at Cleveland Clinic Innovations. Pat also served as a member of the Clinic’s Innovations advisory board for seven years and was a venture capitalist and partner at Boston Millennia Partners, where he successfully invested in early-stage life sciences companies. Pat has more than 35 years of experience in the health care, life sciences, and information technology sectors. He has been responsible for nurturing start-up activities from idea to prototype to stand-alone business throughout his career.
He was previously a senior executive at multiple Fortune 500 companies, including president and chief operating officer of New Era of Networks, vice president at Monsanto, vice president at Bristol Myers Squibb, group president and Group President Parental Products and vice president of research and development at Baxter International.
Pat previously served on the board of directors of Parexel International Corp, a global contract research organization, and has served on the boards of a number of other public and private life sciences companies. He holds a BA and a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, and an MBA from Northwestern University.
