Associate Director of Intellectual Property at Mass General Brigham Innovation office John Hamilton supports the licensing, business development, and accelerator programs for Mass General Brigham-affiliated hospitals in the medical device and artificial intelligence (AI) areas. His background includes more than 20 years of experience assisting medical device, software, and life sciences companies in protecting, licensing, and litigating their intellectual property. His previous positions have included in-house patent and IP licensing counsel in digital media and life science equipment companies, counsel for Choate Hall & Stewart and Burns & Levenson LLP, adjunct FDA law professor at Suffolk University, and investigator and compliance officer for 12 years with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
He received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School.
