At Mass General Brigham, we understand the unique needs of pregnant athletes. Our physicians, physical therapists, and advanced practitioners provide personalized, athlete-focused care for all women, including those who are pregnant and planning families. For athletes, pregnancy requires special consideration and training modifications to ensure the health of the mother and child. We provide prenatal and postpartum care, diagnose and treat musculoskeletal injuries that occur during pregnancy, and educate women on optimal strategies for maintaining maternal and fetal health during rigorous exercise. Our obstetricians are an integral part of the Women’s Sports Medicine team and work to address the unique medical needs of the pregnant athlete while undergoing care.

What does the Women’s Sports Medicine team provide pregnant athletes?

This program offers:

  • Guidance regarding exercise during pregnancy
