On October 26, 2022, Mike Freni, vice president, business development at Mass General Brigham Innovation, gave an Innovation Grand Rounds lecture titled “Finding the Innovation and Value in Digital Health: Selling Digital Solutions to Health Systems.”
In his role as vice president of business development, Freni focuses on supporting the commercialization of key Mass General Brigham assets, collaboration with industry, and exploration of potential digital and artificial intelligence investments for the venture fund.
The digital market has created a high degree of accessibility and convenience in many industries, but health care still has a long way to go. Opportunities for digital transformation in U.S. health care are vast, and recent growth in digital health venture funding and excitement in the marketplace have created an explosion of innovation in digital health. With many new technologies entering the market, health systems, payers, and providers will be making key decisions about which technologies will ultimately be adopted.
In his Grand Rounds, Freni provides an overview of how digital companies can create value, how digital health solutions are selected and adopted by health systems, and some of the key considerations and obstacles that can potentially get in the way.
