This past week the first large scale vaccination site in Massachusetts opened at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Mass General Brigham will support the clinic by providing medical oversight. The site will be operated by CIC, a Cambridge based organization focused on accessible COVID-19 testing and vaccinations.

“Ending this pandemic is the most important public health priority of our lifetime,” said Eric Goralnick, MD, MS, Medical Director, Gillette Stadium. “The collaboration between Gillette Stadium, CIC, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Mass General Brigham represents the type of teamwork required to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The site will open with the capacity to do 300 vaccinations per day and eventually will be able to do 5,000 vaccinations per day. The first vaccines are available only for health care workers and first responders, but the site will later be open to all other Massachusetts residents as they become eligible through the state’s vaccination phased plan.
