Outreach Program with Native American Communities

Support Us

Your financial generosity will enable us to further this vital work to eliminate barriers of care for our local American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities and support Mass General Brigham faculty volunteers to train Indian Health Service (IHS) providers in specialty care, thereby improving the health and well-being in our Native American communities.

Your financial generosity will allow us to provide outreach and vital educational programs to our local American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities and to increase the number of physicians, nurses, mental health providers, and allied health professionals we can send to Navajo Nation.

We hope you will consider making a gift to support this important program.

I have volunteered with the Outreach Program at Navajo Indian Health Service several times over the past 10 years, and the weeks I have spent there are some of the most rewarding of my professional career. I am humbled and inspired by the remarkable patients and health care providers I have met in Shiprock and Gallup, and I continue to learn more from them than I am ever able to give in return. They have taught me how to be more compassionate, culturally competent, and resourceful. They have modeled how to be patient and resilient. My experiences with the Outreach Program have influenced how I practice as a physician, and who I aspire to be as a person.
