Our Focus on Workforce Enrichment and Engagement

We are committed to our workforce and helping them thrive.

To be a global leader in healthcare, it is essential that our workforce reflects the patients we serve and offers a variety of perspectives. This enables us to develop better solutions to our challenges and deliver higher quality care with better patient outcomes. A workforce with a broad range of skills, experiences, and perspectives is best positioned to innovate, create solutions, provide the highest quality care to all our patients, and ensure that our patients maintain trust and feel confident seeking care from our provider community.

Mass General Brigham’s Office of Workforce Enrichment is developed from a foundational and resilient organizational strategy that embeds our values across the organization, and will achieve meaningful, measurable outcomes on behalf of our people. Our driving focus is to prioritize efforts to expand access to opportunities for employees to realize their greatest potential and foster a workplace culture where everyone feels valued and respected.

The Office of Workforce Enrichment works collaboratively with human resources and leaders across Mass General Brigham, integrating efforts to enhance the workplace experience in the following ways:

  • Advise – Workforce Enrichment sets the organizational strategy for enrichment initiatives that provide leaders with support facilitating discussions around a respectful workplace and conflict resolution.

  • Enrich – Workforce Enrichment is focused on fostering a work environment where all our people can thrive by supporting opportunities for connection between employees and ensuring employees feel appreciated and valued for who they are.

  • Celebrate – Workforce Enrichment celebrates our multi-dimensional workforce by continuing to support our 18 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) as well as events and programs honoring heritage months, holidays, and other celebrations highlighting the richness of our workforce.

  • Educate – Workforce Enrichment specializes in supporting the social learning needs impacting our work environment.

Mass General Brigham is a place where employees from a range of backgrounds and perspectives can thrive. The Office of Workforce Enrichment is expanding opportunity and access for advancement, promoting excellence in the workplace, and supporting talented and qualified staff that represent the communities we serve.

Employee Resource Groups

Mass General Brigham’s Office of Workforce Enrichment supports more than a dozen employee resource groups across the system to create an environment where all employees feel seen, heard, and valued for what they bring to the organization.

At Mass General Brigham, employee resource groups (ERGs) are employee-led and open to all members of the workforce. ERGs provide an opportunity for employees to support each other in networking, development, and building community. They strive to create an environment where all employees can aspire, develop, and collaborate to reach their highest potential. All employees can learn more about ERGs on the Communities platform (login required).

United Against Racism

United Against Racism is Mass General Brigham’s commitment to end all forms of discrimination and address the barriers that stand in the way of achieving excellent outcomes for everyone in our community.

Working collectively, we are taking action across the system to ensure that we create systems that support the professional growth and success of all employees and create an environment that is welcoming to our entire community. To be a global leader in healthcare, it is essential that our workforce reflects the patients we serve and offers a variety of perspectives in a welcomed environment.
